Porridge was the best I have had at any venue in the last few years, and the cooked offerings were excellent.

The location is good and the room itself although small and basic was recently done up. Although I barely saw the staff when they were present they were all very kind and helpful.

Great location, friendly owners, bar, lovely views of sunrise from top room windows, plenty of plug sockets in rooms (which is not always the case when staying in hotels)

The fixtures and fittings were good quality and the room had been decorated nicely. The cutlery and crockery were an eclectic mix which added the charm of the property and the host had added nice touches like chocolates, mints, and the usual tea / coffee, etc… A coffee percolator was available as a nice touch.
Breakfast items were provided and we cooked croissants and cinnamon rolls from frozen, which were nice, and there was jam and marmalade provided.
The electric shower took a bit of time to work out, but it was good and hot when we did. WiFi was strong and the TV had the normal mix of freeview channels.
The host was lovely and we had a nice chat in the morning as we left. Overall a good stay.

I went to Ryde, partly because there's a bus direct from East Cowes and the ferry - I don't take the car - and partly to see more of it. I'm not a beach lover but Ryde beach is good for those that are, and in season there's the pleasure pool etc for kids at the east end of the town. Buses go regularly to Newport, Sandown, Shanklin, Ventnor and Bembridge, and the Island Line Railway also goes to Shanklin, And up and down the pier. There are the hovercraft to / from Southsea, the bus / tram museum and shops to potter in. Eating places - Castle Hotel is good - and wonderful ice cream

We were on the island to visit various places so the location did not really matter as we had the car, however having now travelled all around next time we would choose a location with more of a little town environment. There was very little in Ryde.

Ryde buildings and look is tired and needs some refreshing, the train service is, at best, erratic with many cancellations which is annoying if you need to get to Smallbrook Junction. They say you can use the train ticket for the bus but the bus does not go there! However the bus service is good and reliable. The Alamo steak house is very good, excellent steaks cooked as requested.

Great cafes and restaurants.
Great cafes and restaurants. I was really impressed by the homemade cakes on offer. It makes such a change from the massproduced rubbish.
Loved the walks potential. I really wished I had stayed longer.

Apart from the Esplande and having a nice view from hotel room, very disappointed with Ryde.
Very tired looking town. High street shops not very good and lack of restaurants that you would like to eat in.
On the whole not a place we would revisit.
This was a beautiful and well-decorated property. It's located in a quiet residential street but is just a few minutes walk away from shops, pubs, restaurants and beaches of the centre of Ryde. The photos on the website didn't really do it justice. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped. There is a conservatory and a small garden with seating area, which was well-used during the fine weather during our stay. We had a lovely time and would be very happy to return.
Super close to Ryde pier ,close to all shops and restaurants, beach ..staff was amazing and welcoming ,stored our bags until we could check in /out .The rooms are great . There are 2 large communal bathrooms with toilets and I extra toilet ,1 massive shared kitchen and 1 shared eating sitting lounge area .All super clean and we made use of the communal areas as we were several friends staying .
Great hotel, nice and clean, very comfortable bed, the food was very good. The staff were excellent , nothing was too much trouble for them, very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in a wonderful location,it is literally a stones throw from the beach, there is a really nice promenade to walk along the coast.
The views from the hotel are great, you can see across the Solent.
We did not eat at the hotel. But enjoyed the atmosphere in the bar area. Unfortunately on the Sunday the hotel had to close due to having no water supply. The manager Shaun was able to book us into the Fountain hotel in Cowes. He also covered the cost for the Sunday night and offered us a compensation figure which we excepted.
A great little apartment in the center of Ryde. Great for exploring the Island and a nice peaceful location. Good facilities and the apartment had everything you could need. Kerrie was a great host and it was nice to know she was only on the phone if there were any issues - but we had none!
Staff so helpful, I arrived early and they were able to check me in. This hotel is a little oasis of calm - beautiful grounds and one of the best spas I have ever used in a hotel. The lavender sauna cannot be missed! I only stayed one night but it felt like a real break.
The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and tea/coffee and kettle were provided. TV in the room worked fine. The hotel had a comfortable lounge area with a TV and bar downstairs. The breakfast room was clean and bright. Breakfast was adequate, and the staff helpful.
Our Room was small but Okay needs freshening up. Breakfast spread was very high standard, Hotel very efficient and the location very good because of the sea front and access too Ryde Bus Station which very important . The staff friendly and helpful.
Good location in Ryde, staff friendly enough. This is basically a pub with rooms, a bit grandiose to call it a hotel. Room was ok, but as a double it would be very small for 2 people but as I travelled alone it was ok. En-suite tiny!
