The tea and coffee in the room were replenished and the room was cleaned and beds made and towels changed which was very much appreciated. The staff were also friendly. The hotel was handy for the Jorvik Viking Centre, York Castle Museum, York Minster, Clifford Tower and the Shambles.

Jorvik - an interesting journey through time and well worth visiting. York Minster and the crypt with it's Roman history and the story of how they are saving the Minster from sinking and cracking further. The Yorkshire Museum with its different exhibits ranging from Richard III, the Romans and Medieval times to extinct animals of the world. Also the museum gardens are worth wandering around.
